Clinging to the slopes of the Seine west of Rouen · la forêt de Roumare covers nearly 4,000 ha of oak and beech woods on pronounced relief. Awarded the Forêt d'Exception® label and greatly prized by residents of Rouen · it has a network of marked trails and free forest car parks. Dogs on a lead enjoy the typical Norman bocage hollow lanes and panoramas over the loop of the Seine.

Dogs allowed on a lead. National rule for state forests: from 15 April to 30 June a lead is mandatory outside forest paths to protect wildlife during the breeding season (order of 16 March 1955). Exceptions: sheepdogs · avalanche dogs · guide dogs.
