Thousands of places
Parks, beaches, restaurants, hotels: every spot where your dog is welcome, gathered in one place.
Because a dog should never be a constraint
Adopting a dog should open the door to new adventures, not close it.
Yet the reality is often different. A walk cancelled because the park is off-limits. A restaurant that turns dogs away. A beach you can't access in summer. A hotel that doesn't take pets. Over time, every outing demands research, phone calls and a lot of planning.
ThePlaceToDog was created to change that.
Our goal is simple: to help every owner easily find places where their dog is genuinely welcome, so that sharing everyday life with them becomes a pleasure again.
The story of ThePlaceToDog begins in 2016, during a simple walk with my dog.
In just a few hours, several places were off-limits to us: a park, a beach, a café. I realised this situation was nothing out of the ordinary. Thousands of owners were living exactly the same frustrations.
Talking with people around me, the conclusion became obvious: there was nowhere to easily find the places that were truly welcoming to dogs.
« Walking with my dog, I realised how many places were off-limits to us, with access restrictions in certain parks, beaches and shops. »
So I launched the first version of ThePlaceToDog.
Very quickly, thousands of owners joined the project, hundreds of places were listed and several media outlets covered the initiative.
A few years later, the project went on pause.
Today, it returns with a far greater ambition.
We want to make life with a dog simpler.
Every listed place, every review, every photo and every piece of information has a single goal: to let owners go out more often, discover more places and share more moments with their companion.
We are convinced that when it becomes easy to live with your dog, it also becomes easier to keep them for life.
In our own way, we hope to help fight a reality that is still far too common: abandonments linked to the difficulties of everyday life.
A place shouldn't just accept dogs. It should be pleasant for them.
We help owners know whether a place is truly suitable based on the size, age, temperament or needs of their companion.
Opening hours change, rules evolve.
We highlight verified information and let the community quickly report changes, so everyone can set off with confidence.
Recommendations can't be bought.
No business can pay to rank higher. Community reviews and feedback remain the heart of ThePlaceToDog.
Our priority is to build a service useful to as many people as possible.
Browsing places, reviews and information will stay free.
The version we are building today goes far beyond the 2016 one. You will be able to:
Parks, beaches, restaurants, hotels: every spot where your dog is welcome, gathered in one place.
Community feedback and photos so you know what to expect before you even arrive.
Group your favourite places into folders and plan your walks in just a few taps.
Opening hours, access rules, services: the essentials of a place in seconds.
Find ThePlaceToDog on the web and on mobile, always in sync.
Our ambition is to become the reference for everyone who wants to share more moments with their dog.
From the earliest days, it's dog owners who bring ThePlaceToDog to life.
Every place added, every photo published, every review shared helps other owners experience new things with their companion.
Thank you for being part of this adventure.
