About this place
A 1,000-hectare artificial lake nestled in the forests of the Plateau de Millevaches, Vassivière is a highland lake with dark, soft waters surrounded by pine forests and moorland. Its central island is home to a unique contemporary art centre. Dogs swim freely in uncrowded waters, on fine sandy beaches bordered by conifer forests. The wild atmosphere and the absence of crowds make it one of the most enjoyable lakes in France for a day out with your dog.
