About this place
A long trail crossing the Vosges, Franche-Comté, Jura and the pre-Alps over 660 km, the GR9 is the long-distance walking route of France's great eastern forests. Cathedral-like Vosges beech forests, Franche-Comté fir woodlands, karst plateaux of the Jura and the cluses of the Chartreuse make up a varied and accessible route. Dogs find deep forests, a water source in every valley and few tricky sections.
