A true green lung north of Rouen · la Forêt Verte spreads its 3,500 ha of beeches and oaks across the Caux plateaux. Awarded the Forêt d'Exception label along with Roumare and La Londe-Rouvray · it offers a network of marked trails popular with walkers from Rouen. Dogs on a lead can walk along shaded forest avenues at the heart of a remarkable cathedral beech forest.

Fine of 135 euros rising to 750 euros for a dog not kept on a lead outside forest paths from 15 April to 30 June. Hunting in season: check the ONF calendar.
Specific rules
Dogs allowed. Lead mandatory outside forest paths from 15 April to 30 June (protection of wildlife during the breeding season). For the rest of the year the dog must remain under control within 100 m of its owner. Natural water points depending on the area.
