A forest at the heart of the Perche · this 5,000 ha forest surrounds the Cistercian abbaye de La Trappe and the Réserve naturelle régionale de Bresolettes. A mix of oak woods · beech woods and wetlands · it is one of Normandy's most diverse forests. Dogs on a lead can walk trails between coppice and ponds · in the deep silence of a forest shaped by a long monastic and woodland history.

Reported hazards
Fine of 135 euros rising to 750 euros for a dog not kept on a lead outside forest paths from 15 April to 30 June. Hunting in season: check the ONF calendar. Access may be restricted in the Bresolettes nature reserve.
Specific rules
Dogs allowed. Lead mandatory outside forest paths from 15 April to 30 June (protection of wildlife during the breeding season). For the rest of the year the dog must remain under control within 100 m of its owner. Natural water points (ponds) depending on the area.
