A small forest area on the lande de Lessay (around 42 ha) · Vesly-Pissot combines maritime pines · oaks · birches and sweet chestnuts. The forest contains a managed biological reserve protecting remarkable wetland habitats and their wildlife. A walking circuit allows a peaceful dog walk in this cool, damp corner of the western Cotentin.

Reported hazards

Adders may be present: the ONF recommends staying on the paths. Fine of 135 euros rising to 750 euros for a dog not kept on a lead outside paths from 15 April to 30 June.

Specific rules

Dogs allowed. Lead mandatory outside forest paths from 15 April to 30 June (protection of wildlife during the breeding season). For the rest of the year the dog must remain under control within 100 m of its owner. Managed biological reserve on part of the forest: stay on the paths.
