A state forest of around 380 ha in the Calvados bocage · Valcongrain is a quiet beech-oak woodland between Caen and Vire. Little known to the wider public · it offers calm woodland trails in a bocage landscape typical of the Calvados. Ideal for a weekday walk without crowds · where dogs on a lead can move freely along grassed forest tracks.

Allowed on a lead. From 15 April to 30 June: lead mandatory outside forest paths (ministerial order of 31/07/1989). Rest of the year: dog under the control of its owner. Exceptions: sheepdogs · avalanche dogs · guide dogs.
