A forest in the Vire bocage · la forêt de Saint-Sever covers around 1,500 ha of Atlantic oak and beech woodland supplemented by conifers on the heights of southern Calvados. Little visited and well preserved · it offers kilometres of quiet forest tracks · ideal for dog walks away from tourist crowds. Wildlife is abundant: roe deer · wild boar · woodcock. Dogs on a lead enjoy the space and quiet of this wooded bocage.

Specific rules

Allowed on a lead. From 15 April to 30 June: lead mandatory outside forest paths (ministerial order of 31/07/1989). Rest of the year: dog under the control of its owner. Exceptions: sheepdogs · avalanche dogs · guide dogs. Water points accessible (étang du Vieux Château and étang de Coulanges).
